MOL (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.) (Kabushiki-gaisha Shōsen Mitsui) is a Japanese transport company headquartered in Toranomon, Minato, Tokyo, Japan.[1] It is one of the largest shipping companies in the world.

MOL fleet includes dry cargo ships (bulk carriers), liquefied natural gas carriers, Ro-Ro Car Carrier ships, tankers, container ships (among which mv MOL Triumph is the 4th largest containership in the world), and container terminals. Its alligator logo can still be seen on containers in ports, roads, rails and barges around the world, despite the company’s focus on containers shipping has been reduced since April 2018.

MOLLNG (Asia) was established in Hong Kong in September 2015. As MOL becomes involved in the operation of a growing number of LNG carriers, it intends to play a central role in ship management, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, to meet an anticipated increase in LNG shipments bound for Asia.

Currently, MOL is involved in the operation of about 70 LNG carriers, and aims to further expansion its fleet. It continues to take a proactive stance in providing safe, reliable LNG transport services for customers and in Japan and overseas, by utilizing the experience, know-how, and networks developed as the world’s leading LNG carrier owner and ship management company.

The ship management of Marvel Eagle and Marvel Heron has been transferred from MOL LNG Transport (Asia) Ltd. to MOL LNG Transport (Asia) Pte. Ltd. since Aug 11, 2022.
